Snakewood is so called for its characteristics snakeskin pattern. Wood is typically a reddish brown , with contrasting darker brown or black patches. Color tends to darken with age and exposure. Very durable, but can be difficult to work with on account of its high density, Snakewood turns well and finishes to a polish, makes great veneers. Detail is awesome.
